Star Party at Wind Wolves Preserve

This month's Star Party will be held at the Wind Wolves Preserve. The gate will be open at 7:30 PM. See below for details and exact location where we will be. You do not have be there at 7:30, for the gate will be open till 8:15 pm. You are free to depart until 8:15 at which time the gates will be locked, next departure time will be 11 pm, after which we will a final depart as a group at 1:00 am, unless you are camping, in which you are free to stay the whole night. We will also be hosting a group of individuals the Preserve is taking on a Star Gazing Hike, in which the hikers will be able to look at what we are observing.

It is IMPORTANT that you RSVP to this event in Groups.IO so I will know who to expect.

If you want to go to Frazier Mountain Trailhead, you can. But, this is the official location for the month of June and July.

If you want to camp, you must show up by 4:00pm (at the LATEST!) to check in. Phone number 661-858-1115 (General Phone Number)

You enter through the gate till the first "Y" intersection, veer right; proceed to the next intersection, there will be a sign for us, turn left. It is a large grass parking lot (try to keep it organized, but setup anywhere).

Last month, we left at 2:00 am because it took awhile for some objects to rise (WW didn't seem to mind the late departure); this month most objects will rise earlier, so it will be better! We will try to have one early exit time around 11:00 pm (not set in stone). By attending this event, you agree to the departure times.

There are thousands of cat tails, so it would be a good idea to wear high top footwear, no sandles (I found this out the hard way).

I, Jerry Nelson, will attempt to be there, it depends on my pain level (I broke my humerus in half).
